I'm a current student at EMA Mississauga, I have absolutely loved training here. I was initially hesitant at first but the environment created by the instructors and fellow students put me at ease very quickly. the school has a supportive atmosphere, the instructors and students give alot of help to those that need it After training here, I feel the school has made me a better person. After every class I keenly await for the next scheduled class and I dread the day where I have to stop training with EMA. I encourage everyone (especially women) who are genuinely interested in learning Krav Maga to try attending EMA and not to worry if you are behind everyone else in class, everyone is there to help. #keepcalmandkravmaga

Excellence can only be measured by comparison. Compared to the previous Martial arts and clubs I was part of, this school is by far superior for many reasons, but in my opinion the main reason is it's dedicated instructor. If you are looking for a serious school to learn the art of real self defense, a school to train hard and have fun at the same time look no further, EMA is the place!

I've been doing Muay Thai for about a 1.5 years before I discovered Krav. I was looking to expand my skills to something more practical and I definitely found that at EMA. The program provides a wide range of training opportunities from Krav to weapons defense and jiu jitsu, all of which, I believe, have greatly improved my fighting skills. What was equally important to me, was finding a place where I would actually enjoy training. The stuff at the EMA, lead by Dan, are incredible. Whether you're just starting your fighting training or have been training for awhile they are always there to help you grow and are very knowledgeable and supportive. I'm glad to see that more women are getting into martial arts, as it's a great way to stay fit and build strength and confidence. I've definitely seen that trend at the EMA in the few months I've been training, with more and more women joining and growing into amazing and inspiring fighters. Finally, EMA is not just a gym, there's definitely a sense of community where people help each other grow and celebrate each other's achievements. The workouts are tough (prepare to sweat), but nothing can bit that feeling of accomplishment at the end of the night.

I've trained under instructor Ed Wood at both of the affiliated schools in Toronto and Hamilton over the last 2 years. Ed is an absolute authority when it comes to krav maga in particular and self-defense in general. He has a teaching style that pushes students to their limits...and you can definitely expect to exceed what you think your limits really are. It has been such a privilege to train under Ed and the Krav Maga Association of Canada family. I say 'family' because it is truly the only way to describe this tight knit group of individuals. In addition to meeting so many great people both fellow students and instructors, you really feel like you are part of something when you train here. Elite is a first rate martial arts school!

I highly recommend people join this Krav Maga school, especially other women. I signed-up with the Toronto location in March 2015 and attend this new Mississauga location periodically as well. Located in the Wynn Fitness studio, the space is nice and big. The instructors are better than excellent and really set a positive tone for the school which is reflected in the students behaviour as well - nice folks! No attitude or macho egos. Mix of men, women, age, size and ability. My goal has been to get fit, work hard, while learning super efficient & effective self-defense skills (that hopefully I am never put in a position to actually have to use!!). I am very happy with my decision to join and enjoy learning new things each week, taught carefully by Ed, Dan and the other instructors.

I've been a student under Dan Novak and his instructors for almost two years now, and I can say that Elite Martial Arts is the best Krav Maga school in Toronto. The techniques that are taught are no nonsense and Dan + crew make it a point of teaching under real life stress situations to mimic the street. On top of that Elite Martial Arts also offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to up your ground fighting techniques, a conditioning class to work on body strength and cardio and a sparring class. That's a lot of bang for your buck... Oh and all the students are great to work with: pushing you in a constructive way, so your Krav gets better. Come check it out, trial class is free!

Dan Novak runs an awesome Krav Maga school. A deadly workout and excellent teaching of technical skills add up to a great martial arts experience. As an added bonus Muay Thai is now part of the mix.

Great facility and so much fun! I've been going here since Dec 2014 and it's been amazing every class. The staff are super knowledgeable and always willing to help you out if you have questions or aren't getting something in class. I've done martial arts (specifically Taekwondo) before but I never really felt like I was learning something 'real world'. I learned how to punch and kick, but if I was every attacked I knew I wouldn't really be able to defend myself. Learning at EMA is WAY different. Every class I walk out learning something new that is something real world. Instead of learning how to punch, I'm learning to defend myself from an attacker in random situations or what to do if they have a gun or knife. Most of the lessons are close combat (e.g. someone choking you from behind, 3 on 1 fights, etc) It's a great environment too, I'm a 5'3" girl that weighs 150 lbs and I end up going against people of every body type and size, and I've gone up against a guy over 6 feet and twice my weight and been able to use the moves and lessons taught during class during simulated attacked. Using the skills I've learned at EMA I'm confident I'd be able to defend against a real life scenario against any attacker. This is a great class with a great bunch of people and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn self defense, or even just get in a great workout.

I had been training in Krav Maga at Elite Martial Arts for 8 months when I decided to enroll in the Muay Thai program. The training is intense and rewarding, focusing on the fundamentals of Muay Thai. Dan and Nadine are detailed and intelligent instructors who make sure students understand the basics of Muay Thai in order to lay the foundation for their future growth as a martial artist. The pre-class workout is targeted towards body strength and cardio and is a great way to get in shape fast. I enjoy every class and always leave having learned something new. My Muay Thai training has complemented my Krav Maga training allowing my striking to become faster, stronger, and more accurate. Overall it has been a challenging and rewarding experience!

I was looking for a way to be active and get back in shape, something that wasn't slow or boring as well as something that would be useful to know if I ever needed to use it. The instructors are patient and extremely helpful in the way they conduct classes and run their drills. From the first class I could see why they have such high ratings and why there are always a healthy amount of people in each class. The students are of all ages and come from all walks of life; great blend of everyone here. I find the classes to be very enjoyable and super practical...the Elite conditioning is an intense workout as well; it's a fantastic warm-up before each Krav Maga class. Another bonus is that one day each month there's a free Women's self-defence class. I definitely recommend this school to anyone interested in learning Krav Maga from knowledgeable teachers in a great environment. Keep up the awesome job, EMA!
