DO NOT PARK IN THE FRONT! YOU WILL GET A PARKING TICKET! I DIDI! Do yourself a favour and park in Wendy's which is a 10 foot walk to the Service Ontario. There is never parking available. If you park in one of the 3 spots up front you will get a parking ticket or get towed like I did. Other then that they are nice people to deal with.

I have called this facility several times asking to make an appointment to come in (as I am a student from Seneca). Every single time I have called they've made an excuse that the person who takes care of College students is either away for the day or on the other line (I have yet to hear from her). They are extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming towards individuals.

I was very grateful to be able to speak to a doctor at almost midnight last night. Sometimes we don't know if we should go to the hospital or not. He asked some very pertinent questions and suggested i see a dr within four hour so so i took a cab to our emergency dept. Knowing help is only a phone call away when our Dr. Office is closed is very comforting, especially for someone my age. The man, nurse, answering the phone and the Dr. Were very polite and understanding. Thank you.so much. North Bay, On

Lazy and rude! Reported a rent increase and I submitted the former twice...two years later...still nothing ajusted. These workers should be fired! And also, you can never reach anyone over the phone. I went to the office and the rude lady at the front desk told me I had to leave the building because I had Aftershave on! Are you kidding?! What is our government and country coming too?!

These workers here are inept and lazy. I moved to Thunder Bay back in February. I informed them of my move and my new rent amount (which is less then what I was paying living in whitby). They needed to adjust my rent amount and transfer my file. They have done diddly squat. I am still getting $1200/month even though I'm literally asking them to pay me less!

The lock downs due to under staffing is utterly ridiculous. I've called ahead every time and been given the go ahead that visitation is open, then drive there over an hour (have met visitors who have driven 2 to 3 hrs.) only to be turned away. It's very sad. I know people think "too bad!" and "tough luck," these people should stay out of trouble but everyone makes mistakes and this treatment is very hurtful to the family and friends of these inmates who didn't do anything wrong! This is Canada for God's sake. Show a little compassion and understanding. After all, 1 day , you might be on the other end of that phone and the other side of that glass comforting that inmate and you'll wish you had been more empathetic. Changes need to be made! S. I was visiting my sister and it was my first time there. I didn't know what to expect or what to do. I went up to the counter and the man at the desk was very nice and polite and straightforward. As I waited nervously for the visitor check-in there were about two family groups in front of me and one behind. When it was my turn I went in, they asked their simple questions and I went through the detector and they x-rayed my stuff, everything was fine. The man asked if I knew where to go and carefully explained the directions to me since I was nervous and am bad at following directions. He was very nice and considerate since he could probably tell I hadn't been there before and I was all by myself. I followed his directions to where he said I should go, and waited in the hallway for a bit. Since all the hallways look the same I wondered for a couple minutes if I was where I was supposed to be. Eventually I got to see my sister, we got about 30 minutes of the phone line until it was cut off and then we just sat for a bit trying to silently communicate behind the glass until she got taken back in. I wish we could have gotten more phone time but it's just their policy, so it can't really be helped. After that I went back upstairs the way I came and got my ID back from the front desk (they hold it for you while you visit). There are lockers but I didn't bother using one since I didn't bring anything with me. If you are visiting, call the day before and the day of, and make sure you leave LOTS of time to get there on time. I came from Toronto, and there was traffic on the way there. Even though I had left about an hour and a half extra to get there, I only got there 15 minutes before visitation started. Other than that and the fact that it was raining heavily, everything seemed to go smoothly.

I have driven by here a few times and don't expect to ever stay here. It is a horrible place with terrible neighbors, small beds with open washrooms, showers and very little to do on your spare time. I prefer 5 star hotels so I keep my nose clean and stay out of trouble.

Regardless the reason why an inmate is behind bars, they too have love ones that are also suffering outside bars. Most of their love ones look forward to and anticipate to see them for that 30 minute visit and for the inmates it helps sooths their soul. I believe most of us who has a loved one inside and those who doesn't, would agree. Today I went to visit my boyfriend coming from mississauga who's never been to lindsay and has a passing cyste that makes it extremely hard to walk from the excrutiating pain from the swelling and was denied the visit because I was 10 minutes(1540hr) late. I bagged and plead they where heartless, I pulled up by the front entrance door and didnt even bother parking and limped my way in and watch them watch me having difficult time walking. I took the pain and tryed to walk as fast as i could to get to the counter quickly, I thought I was good there was two people ahead of me. All that commotions It would of been hard for them not see or notice me, but unfortunately after the one person she calls red soxs a gentle sitting in the waiting area took some time he finally gets granted visiting permit 3 ladies behind the glass now the one lady cal the next person in front me didnt take long with that one so she calls me and looks at the clock 1538hrs oh your 10 min late. Can someone clarify that with me, i was a few minutes late i believe..... Exactly....!!!! But we all know the defence will be denial will be the factor, I was so embarrassed cause there was a lot of people watching me cry while bagging to beable visit even just for 5minutes. For those who are thinking " they where just doing their job," with all do respect I totally understand, but really did it have come to this someone bagging to see their loved ones. Its not like i said "oh i had to get my nails down , i had to get my hair done or my make up," regardless if you wanted to assume or have poor judgment on people I believe the obviouse was right in front of you no explanation would of been required but still those three ladies chose to be heartless and cruel. Just even a little concideration would of been greatly appriciated. It took me almost 2 hrs or maybe it was 2hrs but I sat in the parking lot and cried causing I couldn't swallon how inhumane they treated me. Thanks ladies Karma is true it may not happen to you but the worste part is it will happen to your loved ones......

No help at all, they let employers get away with stealing money from employees and not pay them vacation pay which I'm legally entitled to... Not according to the ministry of labour. They work with the the companies and businesses so that they don't have to pay there employees properly. Getting screwed by an agency that is suppose to help the people not the EMPLOYERS!!!!!

Operator #2 and #4 closed up the SERVICE ONTARIO at 4:56 p.m. when they had us at the door. We had driven in from our cottage to register our daughters vehicle and tried to explain this through the glass. The older gray haired woman began to shut the blinds on us while the dark haired middle aged woman at the desk shook her head NO to letting us in. It would have been acceptable had it been after 5:00 but in fact both the radio and our cells told that they were closing shop up early with clients at the door. If you are looking for client service at SERVICE ONTARIO Smith Falls don't expect to be given this treatment at all. Won't be going back anytime soon for any further services from this location. Best to drive to where they have people who are client oriented.

Worst office around.. no help when you need it. If you call with an emergency you will be connected with your workers answering machine on the answering machine it says if it's an emergency press zero and you'll be connected to somebody who can help you you push 0 it goes back to the Operator Operator will ask you have you spoke to your worker about it yet if you say no the operator will say sorry nothing we can do and put you back in line if you say yes I'll tell you sorry nothing we can do discuss it with your work here and whenever she decided is what you will do if you are having problems like this with this place feel free to contact your Ontario Ombudsman office as they can push these people to do their job as they seem to have a hard time with it and take a really relaxed attitude to their job

college of trades wouldn't consider my schooling and hours from another province and wanted me to pay 600$ for exemption tests, college of trades, all these fees? for terrible service. On the phone with a representative today, I required a letter stating I had previously registered as a first year apprentice, I had cancelled my membership and switched provinces with apprenticeship mobility when it was available to my home province which recognized my training / school courses. The tone of voice of the employee changed to taut and her manners changed instantly after she had noticed I had not paid my fees to renew my membership ( I had previously cancelled my membership) ontario college of trades is a huge joke, their staff don't have a clue, i'm very disappointed in the quality of service and knowledge of their employees.
