CALC is my first high school in Canada, so I do not have any other experiences, but there is nothing negative I could say about this school. 8 weeks is indeed a short time to finish a course, but all the teachers I worked with were trying hard to make this time as effective as possible. well, may not be without significance that I'm a young student, attending EdVance part of the school, so my guidance and teachers are different (although,I studied in the "normal" part of the school as well). in general, school is nice, offering many extra activities, plus food at school's cafeteria is amazing :)

I am writing this through my brothers google account, but I would like to write that as an institution i can see why there are negative comments as outside of the class I attended I had witnessed the mistreated students from other teachers. But I was fortunate to have had Mr. Bajwa, the grade 12 biology professor who was so passionate about making sure his students were understanding what was being taught. The atmosphere he created was nothing but positive and everyone was interactive. The only reason this specific class gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the temperature in the class. At times it was too much to bare and so a cooling system would have been appropriate.

It's a good school! be thankful everyone gains a second a chance than being send to an ordinary highschool. Would you like to be with 14 year olds when you yourself are on your 20's or 30's?

I have had really wonderful teachers however I have seen some mistreated students by teachers, it was sad because their not supposed to laugh on the expense of students who might not be able to fully understand English language or the gesture of it 4.5 for the teachers . Concerning the Administration office, this is another story I my self was a victim of their verbal abuse ,,,I know this one side of the story. Once a lady in the front disk replied to my request to phone the university on something she could not understand why they would need by " No,I am not going to do it ,because i do not feel like it " I could not believe my hears ,she is an " academic personal " her replied sounded like mean teenager. I had witnesses on her behaviour and the fact that I was polite talking to her. upon speaking to canadian person I was advised to report the incident ,,,but then followed by students advice not to do it because the judge and executioner have the same face therefore the only loser in this case is the student leaving with poor record. I then moved to Yorkdale adult school and saw the difference the principal was working with me on my university app ,,,so tremendous effort from everyone...loved it ,it is far for me,Condition of the building medium I give Yorkdale 4.8 teachers and administrators. Another thing, Calc assess one and place student in lower level ,,,to keep generating money for the school the longer one stay the better for them, more students more money.

I payed a dollar for a lunch voucher and arrived on time to receive it but when I got there I was told I arrived late and was given a sandwich. My dreams were crushed, rather than the fulfilling hot meal I paid for I received bread and tuna in plastic wrap... It was whole grain too...

Not a good school. Guidance is biased.

This school is fun and all, but when they first assess u they clearly assess u and place you below your level, and anytime you try to call the front office with extentions 0 or 2 it is not available, been like that for a year and a half now, making it hard to call for info. If your looking to get through quick from scratch come here, but if you have experience and wanna get a move on- don't waste a moment looking here
