I would very strongly recommend...it was a long drive for me (from Bovaird, Brampton) but it was worth it...I asked to be accommodated ...as my son was in a workshop from 9 to 12 on weekend...and they found me a quiet spot so I could do my work as he trained. The thing about the program I liked most is that it has helped my son (who is in grade 9 now) to have the right perspective regarding career. Before he joined this program he did not have a good understanding of his interests and strengths; he used to spend a big chunk of his time gaming. After he joined a course where he could develop games it turned out that he could see things from the other side and the change was so fast and so good it helped him spend more time studying, coding and (touch on wood) had a big impact on his grades. I don't usually write reviews but if you have a teenage son or daughter interested in technology, I recommend you try it.

My son has been taking coding classes for the last 2 years and he loves it. I would highly recommend THINNOX to anyone interested in learning to code. Erica

Not recommended. We paid almost $1,000 (one semester) for my daughter to take an animation course at Thinnox. We did not know at the time that Thinnox used software that is outdated (by 5 or 6 years, maybe more) to teach the kids. My daughter's animation course ran for 4 months and in the end she found that she learned more in her high-school class in 3 days using the current version of Flash than she learned at Thinnox for the entire semester. Also please be careful about payment. Do not give them your credit card as Thinnox will automatically charge you for the next semester even if you decide to opt out and they will not refund or pro-rate the time spent, even if it is just one class out of the whole 4-month semester. Regretfully, we paid $2,000 for something she could've learned in 3 days.

This is a 5 star place...very very Canadian, the Tim Horton's and the Second Cup of after-schol ed...good things rolled in one. Look...I have been a Math teacher for most of my life and what I liked about this place is what they did with my kid...when he was in grade 5 he developed this aversion to anything remotely work....so I got him in and they got him started on a foundation tech course...Media Tech or something like that....and he insisted that all he wanted was Game Design...but they said start slow...they have a method...after the first two weeks, he would be the one waiting by the door every, and I mean every Saturday morning, ready for his tech fix. He learned a bunch of software, some he knew already, and that's not the point because what he learns today will be obsoleted by 2020 when he goes looking for his first T4 gig...point is ...did he get the process and the skill in developing programs and games...did he get the numbers...as they say...did he get the passion... and that is why this is place was awesome. Unlimited playtime...yes...and that's what I mean...he could come there three days of the week and he would have stuff to talk about at home over dinner...that's why I say it's Canadian...you can get from this place what you want to get...you faff around and end up getting not much...you drink deep you get more...demand your service...they will give it...that's the way it is...there were kids I know in his class that were using this place two, sometimes, three days a week...I know the teacher was a good one too and sometime that is luck...they were using this facility for their regular courses also for thier project work for school and what not...and they always have someoen to show things...so I strongly recommend...for the price...it's a no brainer. Try out some, a camp, which is how my son started...and if it's not your cup of coffee...you will sure find another...but I for sure liked this coffee so I thought I will give a shout out! Norm

I have used this program for the past 5 years and when it's January my son, who is now 14 never fails to remind me...did you book a spot yet! So, it has worked for me, my son is happy, that makes me happy! What I like about the program is that they are super accessible and their super hands on every thing method has worked for my son....he is like...have to do it to learn it...so their style has suited him...and I have had to contact them for receipts and project files and certificates a few times during the year...and they have always sent them through...staff is helpful...that said, the program would benefit if they could add a bit outdoorsy stuff 'coz my son loves the outdoors that and if they could restart their cookie program....my son loved that too and they even offered code tutoring when my son needed it. So, highly recommended, do try it.

Five start experience! I love the teaching staff. Their 'montessori' like method to technology turns out exactly right for my daughter. Love it. Love it. Keep it up guys! before she started here, my daughter hated anything remotely like code. She took baby steps with Scratch, then Python...now she is the first person to wake up Saturdays...each one of them...and she made me buy a camp..she is up at 7:00 no questions asked! Wish it was like this through the school year. Fun place. Don't miss.

************ I do not recommend this school. My son took C++ classes for 3 months. Administration is very unfriendly and very unorganized. When we came for our 1st class that we scheduled with them before. They told us that the C++ instructor already left. My son was there just doing SCRATCH!!! They also changed instructors. The new instructor doesn't help. He leaves the students with a worksheet and tells them to do it. When my son asks him for help, he does his work for him. After the 15 min break, the instructor lets all the kids play games until the end of class. We payed a large sum of money for 10 months. I don't think it is worth it.
